Alyona Volkovas Bilder und Skulpturen zeichnen sich durch eine reduzierte Bildsprache bei gleichzeitiger Konzentration auf das Wesentliche ihres künstlerischen Anliegens aus, gepaart mit einem hohen Maß an Sinnlichkeit. Ihre Werke ziehen den Betrachter nicht nur inhaltlich in ihren Bann, sondern auch durch überraschende Details, die in ihrer Bedeutung pointiert oder visuell akribisch ausgearbeitet sind. Obwohl Volkovas Arbeiten einer figurativen Sprache verpflichtet sind und die künstlerische Handschrift durch den malerischen Prozess sichtbar bleibt, ist die reduzierte künstlerische Grundhaltung der Künstlerin in allen Werken erkennbar. Die Künstlerin erkundet die Ontologie (das Wesen des Seins) dessen, was innerhalb der sichtbaren Materie liegt - die innere Welt - und setzt sich gleichzeitig mit philosophischen Konzepten des Bewusstseins und des inneren Friedens auseinander, die in westlichen und östlichen Philosophien zu finden sind. In diesem Zusammenhang spielt für Volkova auch das Moment der Zeitlosigkeit eine wesentliche Rolle, die sie mit ihren Gemälden und Skulpturen das Moment der Zeitlosigkeit bildlich festhalten will. Doch Zeitlosigkeit ist durchaus kein statischer Zustand. Im Gegenteil - ganz im Sinne des heraklitischen Panta Rhei befinden sich auch Volkovas Arbeiten durch die Interaktion mit dem Betrachter in einem ständigen Fluss.
Alyona Volkova wurde in Odessa geboren, wo sie auch 2010-2014 an der wissenschaftlichen Hochschule der Künste M. B.Grecov Bildende Kunst studierte. Von 2014 bis 2016 arbeitete sie als Dozentin und Illustratorin für verschiedene Kunst und Fashion Design Studios in Odessa und Kiew, bevor sie 2016 an der Städelschule in der Klasse von Tobias Rehberger weiterstudierte. 2023 beendete sie ihr Studium in Frankfurt als Meisterschülerin von Tobias Rehberger. Sie lebt in Frankfurt und Berlin.

Alyona Volkova's paintings and sculptures are characterized by a reduced visual language while at the same time focusing on the essentials of her artistic intention, coupled with a high degree of sensuality. Her works captivate the viewer not only with their content, but also with surprising details that are pointed in their meaning or visually meticulously elaborated. Although Volkova's works are committed to a figurative language and the artistic signature remains visible through the painterly process, the artist's reduced approach is recognizable in all her works.The artist explores the ontology (the essence of being) of what lies within visible matter - the inner world - and at the same time engages with philosophical concepts of consciousness and inner peace that can be found in Western and Eastern philosophies. In this context, the moment of timelessness also plays an essential role for Volkova, who aims to capture the moment of timelessness in her paintings and sculptures. But timelessness is by no means a static phenomenon. On the contrary - in the spirit of the Heraclitean Panta Rhei - Volkova's works are also in a constant state of flux through interaction with the viewer.
Alyona Volkova was born in Odessa, where she also studied Fine Arts at the M. B. Grecov Scientific University of Arts from 2010 to 2014. From 2014 to 2016 she worked as a lecturer and illustrator for various art and fashion design studios in Odessa and Kiev, before continuing her studies at the Städelschule in the class of Tobias Rehberger in 2016. In 2023 she completed her studies in Frankfurt as a master student of Tobias Rehberger. She lives in Frankfurt and Berlin.
