Opening a second location in Brussels was a natural progression for LAGE EGAL, as both Brussels and Berlin are international hubs with vibrant cultural landscapes. Strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Brussels is just hours away from cities like London, Paris, Luxembourg, and Cologne, and boasts a dynamic collector base alongside numerous prestigious institutions and international galleries. This expansion aligns with our mission to broaden the horizons of LAGE EGAL.
Our latest curatorial project GIMME SHELTER speaks to movement, transitions, and the quiet changes we experience on physical and emotional levels. Through diverse artistic propositions, it reflects the spirit of LAGE EGAL, presenting a variety of works that explore themes such as identity, displacement, and intimacy.
The range of mediums—paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographies—engages with the brutalist architecture of the RIVOLI building, offering an immersive experience. The collaboration of international and emerging artists allows GIMME SHELTER to transcend the usual boundaries of contemporary art, fostering open dialogues between different practices and cultures.
