"All important artists show new views and insights into nature, the world, man and God." These words of Karl Hartung already suggest the high demands that the sculptor tried to meet with his own works. For him, man, nature and the cosmos were one. He wanted to illustrate this unity of life and the integration of people in a metaphysical context with his sculptures. In other words: Hartung wanted to convey a worldview. He was not only convinced that a unified worldview could be found in our century, which was marked by crises and upheavals, he also believed that this worldview could be conveyed to other people through art.
