What happens at the very heart of an orchestra - in those moments that remain hidden from the audience? In the exhibition “Resonance. When Sound Turns into Image” Wilfried K. Hedenborg offers an answer that is both personal and immediate.
From his position within the first violins of the orchestra,Wilfried K. Hedenborg captures artistic processes, thereby not only bringing together the specific qualities of both arts but also offering an insight into a world shaped by mutual trust and great sensitivity. A world in which music, a language without borders, comes to life.
As in music, his photographic work follows a clear principle: to serve art without putting oneself in the fore-ground. In this process, the camera becomes an extension of the eye, just as violin and bow become extensions of the arm and hand. Wilfried K. Hedenborg’s perspective opens the door to a cosmos of its own.
His photographs reveal how making music together gives rise to a unique form of communication - beyond words, carried by breathing, gestures, and glances, as well as the shared creation of musical phrases. The relationship with the respective Maestri is also experienced as a delicate interplay: a process of mutual listening and responding in which musical interpretations emerge together.
