Die Werke der Berliner Künstlerin Rubica von Streng erscheinen für den Betrachter zunächst als ein geöffneter Raum, der für das eigene Bewusstsein, aber auch für Assoziationen oder Interpretationen Platz hält. Die eigene Perspektive der Künstlerin ist jedoch ein klar zukunftsgewandter Blick auf unsere Welt – aktuelle Themen wie die Klimakrise oder menschliche Konflikte und insbesondere deren Auswirkungen auf unsere Natur kommen in einigen ihrer Werke zum Ausdruck. Dabei erschafft die Künstlerin keine dystopischen oder gar hoffnungslosen Ansichten der uns umgebenden Welt, sondern zeigt in ihren Gemälden vielmehr die Möglichkeit einer respektvollen Koexistenz: Übereinandergelegte, fast durchscheinende organische Formen erinnern an Flora und Fauna, entziehen sich jedoch vollständig der Gegenständlichkeit. Die hellen Farben, mal lasierend oder deckend, wirken träumerisch und doch nicht unecht oder fremd – für die Künstlerin sind es plausible Ansichten und Aussichten der Zukunft.
